Received some positive feedback from my boss and our Church Council chairman over the weekend.

It's a great feeling and makes me want to keep doing better in my new job.

My boss is going to be overseas the next couple of weeks, which I means I'm in charge of publishing the newsletter and running the office.

I've started compiling manuals and procedures to help me keep track of where everything important is, so everything continues to run smoothly in his absence.

Lots of gray areas and new questions keep popping up. Steep learning curve. But with God's help and the help of my church family, I know I can nail this. I'm gonna focus on the opportunities in the challenge and on making a difference in the wellbeing of our leaders and the running of our church.
Meeting mortgage broker next week to sign docs for refinancing of home loan.

Had some misgivings after we gave him the green light to go ahead with loan application. After all the reading we've done, realized we (still) didn't really understand x-collateralization, line of credit vs offset vs redraw, standalone loans, implications of mixing personal funds with investment funds...

In the midst of getting a second opinion from a mortgage broker who is himself a property investor.

On the home front, bro-in-law and real estate agent called today to say they were at HDB for the first appointment. As our sale is a 'negative sales proceeds' transaction, we have to refund the $5k downpayment and deposit to HDB. Am getting BIL to pay first and we'll ETF him the money.

Buyers have asked to have the flat early to begin renovation. The agent has advised that we say yes subject to buyers assume responsibility for anything that might go wrong before settlement, and also get their contractors to clear any belongings still there that they don't want.

It's great to have a professional and ethical RE agent on our side for a change!

How good is this?

Just received an email from LearnOutLoud.com offering a podcast by Joyce Meyer.

Can't remember why or how, but I was listening to some Paraliminal CDs by Paul Scheele in preparation for tonight's coaching session, and thinking how about feeding myself spiritually by listening to audio recordings of God's Word.

I know Koorong has recordings of the Bible in mp3 downloads and CD format, but they are usually read by guys, and I specifically wanted a female voice.

More specifically: a mellow, listenable female voice.

And the first female Christian that came to mind was...Joyce Meyer.

I've never heard her speak. I only know of her through friends who are fans of her books.

Now I'm going to listen to her podcast and find out if she's the one.

Coaching: 2nd session

Just finished my second coaching session via Skype.

This time I prepped myself by listening to classical music. Found a great new station: Venice Classic Radio.

I also made sure I was open to Client talking about what was on her mind rather than what I had planned. When she apologized for going off track, I assured her she was not off track at all, and simply affirmed her desire to tackle that particular issue.

Some comments from client:

wahhhh..... good idea! I will do that!

okie I will keep your tips in mind. Thanks so much! I feel so much relieved!

Client is to email me the homeplay assignment from last week and her feedback on tonight.
Just trawled through the Sg Employment Act and was disappointed to find that the provisions do not deal with what happens when an employee is discriminated against or subjected to verbal abuse in the workplace.

It's all about what's in the contract of service and disputes over money.

Will have another look at it again in case I missed something.

Am curious to know what legal recourse, if any, an employee has if he/she has a boss who habitually uses vulgarities at work, tells dirty jokes in the hearing of staff and shows displeasure if the offended employee walks out.
